I love following travel influencers on Instagram. For inspiration, wanderlust and to keep myself in check for striving towards being a full-time travel creator. One can only dream.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram recently, you’ll know that I’ve been posting a lot more travel-related content, and I’ve been really enjoying sharing cheap flight finds and the places that I’ve visited.
Just recently, a travel video of mine went a little viral, hitting 5.7 million views and 400,000 likes. I’ll link it below so you can watch if you haven’t already seen it:
So, if like me, you’d likely to add some travel inspiration to your Instagram home page, here are 14 creators to consider.
14 Travel Influencers to Follow
1. Janet Newenham
An Irish woman like myself, I enjoy Janets travels around the world as she heads to places very much off the beaten track. Janet’s most recent trip to Africa was fascinating, as were her images of the tribes and communities there.
2. A Girl Who Blooms
I’ve been following Siobhan for quite some time now, and some of you may even remember my podcast episode interviewing Siobhan and her husband Joe all about their lives living in Bali and working remotely. If you would like some Bali-specific recommendations or South East Asia, this is definitely a page to follow.
3. Claire and Peter
A new follow for me, I’m obsessed with Claire and Peter’s account. They set out to travel for one year only and are now into their third year of travelling around the world. They are definitely an inspiration for me after both quitting their corporate jobs to travel, something I really hope I can do in the future.
4. Mark and Nadine
If you’re planning a trip to Thailand any time soon, you’ll need to follow Mark and Nadine. Another Irish follow, I love seeing what they both get up to living in Thailand for so many years and as they explore other areas of Asia. So many great tips from a couple that’s lived there for quite a while!
5. Travelling Tuesdays
I love Abena’s content. Most recently, she completed a solo travel trip to the Maldives, and I was hooked on what she would get up to here alone. Abena’s images and videos are always so beautifully edited and come with great tips and advice at the same time.
6. Tarryn Wenlock
From Northern Ireland, I’ve really been enjoying Tarryn’s travel content recently across South America. Tarryn and her husband are incredible at photography and editing (something I wish I could be better at myself) and I’m constantly in awe of the amazing photos they take around the world. Plus Tarryn makes travelling look so stylish too!
7. Steph my Life
I’ve been following Steph for a long time now, and she’s always been an inspiration to me as she quit her corporate job in London to travel and has never looked back. Now spending half the year in Europe from her home in Italy and the other half of the year in Bangkok, Thailand. I can only hope my life looks something similar to this in the future.
8. Gina Goes To
Gina’s a bit of a different travel creator to follow. Gina spends most of her time travelling all over the world to review hotels. If you’d like some luxury hotel inspiration on your Instagram feed, then Gina is definitely one to follow. I have a few places saved on my destination bucket list.
9. 2 Trouble Travelers
Another recent discovery, I came across 2 Trouble Travelers while on their camper van trip around the West Coast of Australia. As most of the people I know who reside in Australia live in Sydney and Melbourne, it was so great to see this other side of the country and the absolute beauty that it has to offer. A camper van trip around the West Coast of Australia has been firmly added to my bucket list.
10. Okay Kara Travels
A Welsh content creator that I discovered on TikTok, I’ve now been following Kara on Instagram while she’s back at home after her travels around Asia. Kara shares advice on how to be a travel creator and how to make money doing so. There’s a lot of valuable tips and tricks on Kara’s page if making money from social media is something you’re interested in.
11. Callie Thorpe
Part of me always thought that I had to be skinny before I ever travelled anywhere. I had this belief that I could never go to Thailand unless I had a flat stomach, or I could never go to Australia until I was a size 8. I love following creators like Callie who show me that it doesn’t matter what size you are, you can travel anywhere and at any time. If you wait until you’re a certain size, the time may never come.
12. Helene in Between
An American content creator that has been around for quite a while, I enjoy following Helene for her comical travel videos showing what it’s like to be an American in Europe and in England. Whilst Helene is now based in England, she still travels all over and shares her top tips and recommendations.
13. The Way to Wherever
Another amazing travel photography account, this couple have been sharing their travels while working as a creative media agency. Their content is incredible and I only wish I had a similar skillset when it comes to photo and video editing – hopefully in the future!
14. Candace Abroad
Last but not least, Candace is another great travel creator to follow and posts a lot of content centered around London too. But if you’re in the market for some European travel inspiration, Candace is your go-to.
