Moreover, Paris is a fashion capital, offering an upscale shopping experience that’s hard to rival.
With rich history, picturesque views along the Seine, and a cultural depth that spans centuries, Paris captures hearts and inspires countless return visits.
As I mentioned above, I’ve been to Paris twice. The first time with my boyfriend for my birthday in March, and the second with friends around Halloween/October time.
You can see everything we got up to most recently in my Paris vlog below, and I’ve linked my original Paris vlog further down in this blog post. You’ll also find the best Paris hotels we chose to stay in, within these vlogs.
The Best Time of Year to Visit Paris
The best time to visit Paris largely depends on personal preferences, but most travellers find spring (April to June) and fall (September to November) to be ideal.
In spring, the city blooms with cherry blossoms, and temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities.
Fall brings cooler weather, fewer tourists, but stunning autumn foliage in parks like Jardin du Luxembourg.
Summer (July to August) is warmer and busier, with festivals and extended daylight, while winter offers holiday charm and seasonal events for those seeking a cozy Paris experience.
Each season has its unique draw, but spring and fall are best for mild weather and a more relaxed pace.
Top 5 Things to See and Do in Paris
There are so many things to see and do in Paris, which makes it such a great city to keep wanting to return to.
I could definitely see Paris as somewhere I live in the future, if I’m ever lucky enough to do so.
Below, I’ve listed the top five things to see and do in Paris, that you can’t visit without doing.
1. Eiffel Tower
A trip to Paris isn’t complete without a visit to the Eiffel Tower. Visitors can either ascend to the top for breathtaking views over the city or enjoy it from the surrounding gardens and Seine River.
2. Louvre Museum
As the world’s largest art museum, the Louvre houses iconic works like the “Mona Lisa” and the “Venus de Milo.”
Exploring its vast galleries is a journey through history and artistic achievement.
3. Notre Dame Cathedral
Though undergoing restoration, Notre Dame remains a symbol of Paris and an architectural marvel. Visitors can still explore nearby and enjoy views of the cathedral from the Seine or local cafes.
Near to Notre Dame, you’ll also find one of my favourite bookstores, Shakespeare & Co. It sells English-language books and also has a lovely cafe adjoined to it. It’s so worth a visit!

A cruise along the Seine offers a different perspective on Paris, floating past landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, and the historic bridges.
