1. Cărturești Carusel – The Most Beautiful Bookstore in Bucharest
We’re starting strong with what might be one of the most iconic Instagram spots in Bucharest Romania—Cărturești Carusel.
This dreamy bookshop in the Old Town is known for its white spiral staircases, balconies, and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves.
Located in a restored 19th-century building, it’s more than just a place to browse books. The natural light, curved architecture, and second-floor café make it a perfect stop for both photos and a quiet break.
I spent a good half hour here just soaking it all in—and yes, snapping a few dreamy shots for Instagram.

2. Pasajul Macca-Vilacrosse – A Hidden Gem with a Yellow Glass Roof
Tucked behind Calea Victoriei, Pasajul Macca-Vilacrosse is one of Bucharest’s quirkiest corners.
This passageway is covered with a yellow stained-glass roof that gives it a golden glow and almost Parisian feel.
The arcade is lined with restaurants and cafés, making it not only photogenic but also a lovely place to stop for a drink.
It’s often missed by tourists, but it’s one of my favourite Bucharest Instagramable spots—especially for moody, romantic photos.

3. Stavropoleos Monastery – A Peaceful Slice of History
In the heart of Bucharest’s Old Town sits the small but beautiful Stavropoleos Monastery.
Built in the 18th century, it features intricate stone carvings, wooden details, and a tiny courtyard filled with ivy and antique columns.
This is one of those places that feels worlds away from the busy streets nearby.
You’ll find a quiet, spiritual atmosphere and the kind of instagram places in Bucharest that aren’t overly polished but deeply photogenic.
Come early to enjoy the peace. One of the most peaceful Instagram spots in Bucharest.

4. Old Town (Centrul Vechi) – Colourful Streets and Historic Charm
The Old Town is full of photogenic corners—from charming cafés and faded facades to colourful alleyways and ornate doorways.
It’s also home to a few other Instagram spots in Bucharest on this list, like Stavropoleos Monastery and Cărturești Carusel.
Wandering around here was one of my favourite things to do in Bucharest.
Every turn reveals something different, and if you visit early in the morning, you can get gorgeous golden light without the crowds.

5. Umbrella Street – A Colourful Burst in the City
Tucked within the Old Town, Umbrella Street (officially known as Pasajul Victoria) is one of Bucharest’s most playful and colourful photo spots.
Bright umbrellas are suspended above the narrow street, creating a whimsical rainbow canopy.
It’s become one of the most Instagrammable spots in Bucharest, and for good reason. The contrast of colour against the old buildings is magic.
It can get busy later in the day, so try to get there in the morning for the best shots. One of the most colourful Instagram spots in Bucharest!

6. Romanian Athenaeum – Classical Elegance
The Romanian Athenaeum is arguably Bucharest’s most elegant building.
This neoclassical concert hall is as impressive outside as it is inside—with columns, domes, and murals that make it a stunning backdrop for photos.
If you’re lucky enough to attend a performance, the interiors are jaw-dropping.
But even just admiring the building from the front steps gives you one of the best views in Bucharest.

7. Palace of the Parliament – A Giant among Landmarks
Love it or loathe it, the Palace of the Parliament is one of the most jaw-dropping structures in Europe.
It’s the second-largest administrative building in the world and dominates the skyline with its sheer scale.
I found the best Instagram angle from Izvor Park or from the main road leading up to the palace.
It’s worth joining a tour to go inside (bring your passport), but even the exterior offers some of the most recognisable Instagram spots in Bucharest.

8. Arcul de Triumf – Inspired by Paris, Uniquely Romanian
Built to commemorate Romania’s independence, the Arcul de Triumf looks like a smaller version of its Parisian counterpart—but with Romanian detailing.
The best time to photograph it is either early morning or golden hour.
If you visit in summer or during a national holiday, you might even be able to climb to the top for panoramic views—another contender for the best views in Bucharest.
One of the best Instagram spots in Bucharest that might make you look like you’re in Paris instead!

9. Therme Bucharest – The Most Instagrammable Spa Experience
Located just outside the city, Therme Bucharest is a tropical wellness paradise. Think palm trees, thermal pools, saunas, and futuristic design—all under a giant glass dome.
It’s incredibly photogenic, especially the illuminated pools at night. This is one of the most iconic and best Instagram spots in Bucharest.
Bring your camera (or waterproof phone case!) and spend a few hours soaking, relaxing, and capturing some standout shots. Definitely one of the most unique instagram spots in Bucharest Romania.

10. Palace of the Deposits and Consignments – Art Nouveau Grandeur
This lesser-known gem of the Instagram spots in Bucharest gem, also called CEC Palace, is an architectural masterpiece.
Located near the Old Town, it features a grand dome, ornate detailing, and a photogenic exterior that’s popular with fashion shoots and engagement photos.
You can’t go inside unless there’s an exhibition, but the outside alone makes it one of the best Instagram places in Bucharest for architecture lovers.

11. Caru’ cu Bere – Bucharest’s Most Instagrammable Restaurant
Looking for Instagrammable restaurants in Bucharest? Look no further than Caru’ cu Bere, a traditional beer hall that’s been serving since 1879.
Inside, it’s like stepping into a gothic fairy tale—stained glass, dark wood, and vaulted ceilings.
The food is hearty and traditional, and the atmosphere is always lively. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. One of the best Instagram spots in Bucharest for traditional foodie pics!

12. Herăstrău Park – Lakeside Walks and Nature Shots
If you want a green escape from the city centre, head to Herăstrău Park (now officially called King Michael I Park).
Located in the north of Bucharest, it’s built around a lake and is full of trees, statues, and winding paths.
Come here for relaxed nature shots, paddle boat snaps, or even to spot a few turtles in the water. It’s also a great picnic spot and gives a totally different view of Bucharest’s vibe.

13. Kretzulescu Church – A Hidden Red Brick Beauty
Right next to Revolution Square, Kretzulescu Church is an 18th-century red-brick church that offers a striking contrast to the surrounding government buildings.
It’s often overlooked, but this spot is serene and beautifully preserved.
I stopped by on a whim and ended up taking some of my favourite photos here—especially of the frescoes and ivy-covered walls.

14. Casa Mita Biciclista – The Cycling Lady’s House
This oddly named house has a quirky story. “Mita the Cyclist” was a famous socialite in early 20th-century Bucharest, and her extravagant home still stands today on Victory Avenue.
The building is gorgeous in a faded, vintage way—and a bit of a secret Instagram spot in Bucharest.
It’s currently under renovation, but even the façade is worth a visit for urban explorers and history lovers for one of the best Instagram spots in Bucharest.

15. Saint Nicholas Church – Colourful Domes and Russian Influence
Located near University Square, the Saint Nicholas Russian Church is small but stunning. With its colourful domes and gold detailing, it’s one of the most unique religious buildings in the city.
It’s especially photogenic in spring when the flowers are blooming around it.
Come for a peaceful moment or a dramatic pop of colour for your Bucharest Instagram feed.
