Next in this series of reviews is Hotel Trianon where we stayed at the very beginning of our backpacking travels, for three nights in Bucharest, Romania.
We spent three nights in Bucharest, Romania as it was a cheaper way for us to get to Dubai, whilst also ticking off another country in Europe.

This blog post is all about my stay at Hotel Trianon in Bucharest.
Location of Hotel Trianon
The location of the hotel was perfect for us, next to a beautiful park, Grădina Cișmigiu, and nearby to bus stations which was great for us as we took the bus quite a lot in Bucharest since it only cost £0.52 per journey.
We walked (and even ran on one occasion) to most places, but the bus stops by the hotel were handy for airport connections and to get to Therme Spa.
The city centre, main attractions and best restaurants were all walking distance from the hotel, so the location made this hotel great value for money.

Cost to Stay at Hotel Trianon
This was the first stop on our backpacking tour, so as you can imagine, we were on quite a strict budget.
For three nights, the hotel cost us £90. This was £30 per night, and if split between the two of us, it was £15 per night, per person.
The Amenities at Hotel Trianon
I’d say the hotel itself was a little dated. It could do with some touch-ups to make it appear more modern. However, like I said above, this only cost us £30 per night so definitely did the job.
Another thing to note is that the hotel doesn’t have 24-hour reception. So you will need the code to enter if returning late at night.
Overall Review of Hotel Trianon
We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Trianon and would definitely recommend staying here. Especially if you’re on a backpacking budget like we were.
The same receptionist was there each morning, so got to know us quite quickly and was very pleasant.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and to do Bucharest on the cheap, this hotel is a great option.
