This blog post is all about the Mandarin White Sand Boracay hotel.

Welcome to the Checking In series on Orlagh Claire where I review my stay in hotels, hostels, guest houses and AirBnBs around the world. This review: Mandarin White Sand, Boracay, Philippines.
You can see hotel room tours of everywhere we’ve stayed over on my YouTube channel.
I recently visited the island of Boracay in the Philippines. I was mesmerised by the white sand beach and incredible blue waters. And that was before I saw my first Boracay sunset.
Our three nights in Boracay were a dream. And I wanted to share my incredible experience staying at Mandarin White Sand during my time on the island.
This blog post is about the Mandarin White Sand Boracay Hotel.
Why You Should Visit Boracay, the Philippines
Boracay, a small island in the Philippines, has earned its reputation as one of the world’s top beach destinations.
Known for its pristine white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant island vibe. It’s a dream destination for beach lovers, honeymooners, and adventurers also.
Despite its small size—just over 10 square kilometres—Boracay packs a punch with its natural beauty, exciting activities, and welcoming atmosphere.
A Paradise for Beach Lovers
Boracay’s crown jewel is White Beach. A 4-kilometre stretch of powdery white sand that looks like something out of a postcard.
Whether you’re sunbathing, swimming, or strolling along its shores at sunset, this beach promises unforgettable moments.
For those seeking quieter beaches, there’s Puka Shell Beach, Bulabog Beach, and other hidden gems scattered across the island.
Adventures on Land and Sea
Adventure seekers will find no shortage of things to do in Boracay. The island offers an array of water sports, including parasailing, kiteboarding, snorkelling, scuba diving, and paddle-boarding.
For those who prefer to stay dry, there are island-hopping tours, cliff diving, and even hiking trails leading to panoramic viewpoints.

Vibrant Island Life
When the sun sets, Boracay comes alive with its buzzing nightlife. From beachfront bars with live music to clubs where you can dance the night away. The island caters to all kinds of night owls.
During the day, visitors can explore the local culture through fresh seafood markets, souvenir shops, and delicious Filipino cuisine served in both casual eateries and fine dining establishments.
A Destination for All Travellers
Whether you’re a backpacker on a budget (like me) or looking for a luxurious tropical retreat, Boracay offers accommodations and experiences to suit every type of traveller.
The island’s friendly locals, laid-back charm, and world-class hospitality make it a destination people return to time and time again.
Boracay is more than just a beach destination—it’s a slice of paradise that promises relaxation, adventure, and unforgettable memories.
Understanding Boracay’s Three Stations
Boracay Island is divided into three main areas known as Stations 1, 2, and 3.
These zones were originally created to help travellers navigate the island, and each offers a unique vibe and set of attractions.
Station 1: Luxury and Space
Station 1 is the northernmost part of White Beach and is synonymous with luxury and exclusivity. It boasts the widest beachfront, powdery white sand, and some of the island’s most high-end resorts.
This area is perfect for travellers seeking tranquillity, open spaces, and a more upscale experience. Iconic landmarks like Willy’s Rock are also located here.
Station 2: The Heart of Boracay
As the central hub of the island, Station 2 is where all the action happens. It’s packed with restaurants, bars, shops, and the vibrant nightlife Boracay is famous for.
D’Mall, the island’s main shopping and dining area, is located here, making it ideal for travellers who want to stay at the centre of activities.

Station 3: Laid-Back Charm
Station 3, located on the southern end of White Beach, is the calmest and most budget-friendly area. It’s home to smaller, more affordable accommodations and retains a rustic, laid-back charm.
Travellers looking for peace and a more serene beach experience will love this part of the island.
How to Decide Where to Stay in Boracay
Choosing where to stay in Boracay depends on your travel style and priorities.
If you’re after luxury and a quieter ambiance, Station 1 is ideal with its high-end resorts and wide beachfront.
For those who love being in the heart of the action, Station 2 offers easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and shopping.
If peace and affordability are your priorities, Station 3 provides a more laid-back vibe with budget-friendly accommodations.
For adventure seekers, consider staying near Bulabog Beach, the island’s hub for kiteboarding and water sports.
Ultimately, whether you’re here to relax, party, or explore, Boracay has the perfect spot for every traveller.

One of the standout aspects of our stay at Mandarin White Sand Boracay was the seamless transfer service they provided, making our arrival in Boracay completely stress-free.
From the moment we landed at the airport, we were met by the hotel’s friendly staff and escorted to a branded minivan for a comfortable ride to the jetty port.
At the port, we were guided onto a private boat, exclusively arranged by the hotel, which whisked us across the turquoise waters to the island.

The journey was so smooth and allowed us to soak in the stunning views of Boracay as we approached. Upon arrival, another private minivan was waiting to take us directly to the hotel entrance.
