Finding Instagram spots are my thing, and it was no different when it came to finding the best Copenhagen Instagram spots.
I recently visited Copenhagen, Denmark for the very first time and instantly fell in love with the Danish city. There are many ‘Instagrammable’ spots in Copenhagen and I wanted to put a list together for when you visit.
It was a gorgeous, crisp autumn weekend when we visited, which made the experience even better as this is my favourite season for a city break.

There was so much to see and do (and eat) in the capital of Denmark, and you can view my YouTube vlog for everything we did get up to while we were there.
At the time of writing this, the vlog is on 70,000 views!
Here are my top 10 Copenhagen Instagram spots
1. Nyhavn
Probably the most famous Copenhagen Instagram spots is Nyhavn. This waterfront area looks at coloured buildings, restaurants, nightclubs and bars and makes for the perfect Instagram photo.
If you want to remember your time in Copenhagen and photograph it, this is the most important spot to have on your list.
2. Nyboder Houses
Nyboder is a district of Copenhagen that used to be navy barracks. The exterior of the houses are still the same today, and kept this way for historical purposes.
However, inside of the houses are modern and up-to-date and they have restored most of them and are continuing to do so, with the area home to the everyday person now but with the same historic front. Definitely worth a visit.
3. Magstræde Street
Magstræde Street is one of the most picturesque (and Instagram-worthy) streets in all of Copenhagen.
Famous for its winding corner, the background of terraced buildings makes for a great photo.
4. Kastellet
Kastellet is said to be one of the best preserved fortresses in all of Europe. You’ll find armed guards when you enter, before following the trail to a beautiful park with views of the city.
You’ll also find this preserved windmill on your walk, which makes for a great background.
5. Jægersborggade
This street is most famous for its boutiques and cafes, but I added it to the list of Instagrammable spots because it reminds me of Soho in New York.
The tall, colourful buildings paired with the cobbled road make this a very picturesque area of Copenhagen.
6. The Little Mermaid
Probably Copenhagen’s most famous tourist attraction, The Little Mermaid is a statue worth visiting.
You’ll find a lot of tourists here, with some risking getting as close as they can to the statue for the best picture. Another Copenhagen Instagram spot to add to your list!
7. Assistens Cemetery
Although this is a cemetery, the middle pathway between the cemetery is beautiful, especially as you can see, in the autumn.
With the tall trees showing all colours of the season, it’s hard not to snap a photo of the beautiful nature.
8. Sct. Peders Bageri
One of Copenhagen’s most famous Danish bakeries is Sct. Peders Bageri. With a few outdoor seats, it also makes for a great photo while enjoying your Danish pastry and a hot beverage.
Make sure to get the cinnamon roll when you visit, it’s simply delicious!
9. Tivoli Gardens
Tivoli Gardens is the world’s second oldest amusement park. Mostly marketed towards kids, it’s a great place to visit during your visit to Copenhagen, and was perfectly themed for Halloween during our quick weekend.
At night, the sign lights up with a short animation so it’s great to see in both the day and nighttime.
10. Gasoline Grill
This is one of my top recommendations for food in Copenhagen. A burger joint at an actual working gas station.
And when I say this was probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had, I’m not lying. And if you don’t believe me, it’s actually been voted one of the best burgers in the world. So it would be rude not to try it.
Plus, the location makes for a pretty cool photo too. Gasoline Grill is a must when in Copenhagen!
