This blog post is all about the best Siem Reap hotels.

Siem Reap is one of those magical destinations that manages to capture the hearts of everyone who visits.
Most people know it as the gateway to Angkor Wat, one of the most breathtaking and iconic historical sites in the world.
But this charming city is so much more than just a starting point for temple-hopping—it’s a vibrant blend of history, culture, and warmth that offers an incredible experience in its own right.
The city itself is full of life, with bustling night markets, a thriving food scene, and a unique mix of old and new.
Walk through its streets, and you’ll find everything from traditional Khmer architecture to modern cafes and boutique stores. Siem Reap has also become a haven for travellers looking to relax, with its lush surroundings, tranquil spas, and welcoming atmosphere.
This blog post is all about Siem Reap hotels in Cambodia.
Siem Reap: Home of Angkor Wat
Of course, the star attraction here is the Angkor Archaeological Park, home to the world-famous Angkor Wat.
Watching the sunrise over this majestic temple is a bucket-list experience, and exploring the intricate carvings and ancient ruins of other temples like Bayon and Ta Prohm (famous for its jungle-overgrown appearance) feels like stepping back in time.
Beyond the temples, there’s plenty to do. Like visiting the floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake, enjoying a traditional Apsara dance performance, or taking a Khmer cooking class to master the flavours of Cambodian cuisine.
During our visit, we spent four days in Siem Reap, which felt like the perfect amount of time to take in the highlights while still having time to unwind. Whether you’re coming for the temples, the culture, or just to relax, this city has a way of leaving a lasting impression.

Why Visit Siem Reap?
Below are the top reasons to visit Siem Reap and things to see and do in this Cambodian City:
Angkor Wat and the Angkor Complex
No trip to Siem Reap is complete without visiting the world-famous Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most awe-inspiring archaeological wonders in the world.
Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument ever built and is breathtaking at sunrise when the golden light reflects on its moat.
Beyond Angkor Wat, the Angkor complex includes dozens of other temples like Ta Prohm, famously overgrown with trees, and Bayon Temple, with its iconic smiling faces.
Night Markets and Pub Street
Siem Reap comes alive at night with its vibrant night markets and buzzing Pub Street.
Here, you’ll find an array of street food stalls, bars, and restaurants, perfect for unwinding after a day of temple exploring.
It’s a lively area where you can try local delicacies, shop for souvenirs, or simply enjoy the electric atmosphere.
Floating Villages on Tonle Sap Lake
For a unique experience, take a trip to Tonle Sap Lake, where you can visit floating villages and learn about the traditional lifestyles of the communities who call the lake home.

Cultural Experiences
Siem Reap offers plenty of cultural activities, from Apsara dance performances to traditional Khmer cooking classes.
Visiting local artisans or the Cambodia Landmine Museum adds depth to your understanding of the region’s history and culture.
Where to Stay: Siem Reap Hotels
Whenever you visit a new city, one of the biggest challenges is figuring out the best area to stay.
You want somewhere that’s convenient, close to all the action, but not so central that you’re constantly surrounded by noise and crowds.
In Siem Reap, the good news is that the city is relatively compact, making it easy to navigate—but where you stay can still make a big difference to your experience.
We’d recommend looking for accommodation west of the river, particularly in the area between The Urban Hotel and Pub Street (Street 08).
This is one of the most convenient locations, putting you within walking distance of key attractions like the night markets, Pub Street’s buzzing nightlife, and a variety of restaurants and cafes.
At the same time, you’ll be far enough from the noisiest parts of the city to enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.
