This blog post is all about my Tallaringa Views review and experience of spending two nights there on my recent trip to Byron Bay, New South Wales.

During my very recent first trip to Byron Bay in New South Wales, I spent two nights at Tallaringa Views in the Byron Bay Hinterlands.
This was the perfect romantic retreat for my boyfriend and I and a great way to end our five days in Byron Bay.
We had spent our first two nights of the trip staying directly in Byron Bay itself, at Drifter Byron Bay, before driving 30 minutes away to Alstonville where Tallaringa Views is located, for our final two nights.
I love these kind of cosy cabin escapes and it reminded me of our stay at Bimbadeen Estate in Hunter Valley, also in New South Wales that was remote with incredible views of the Hinterlands.
In this blog post, I’ll be reviewing my 2 nights stay at Tallaringa Views in the Byron Bay Hinterlands, and giving my honest opinion about our experience.
I regularly review my hotel stays around the world, and if you’d like to read more of those, you can find all of my hotel reviews here.

A Woodland Getaway from Byron Bay
If you’re looking for a romantic getaway from Sydney, or the Gold Coast, then I would highly recommend Tallaringa Views in the Byron Bay Hinterlands.
Just a 30 minute drive outside of Byron Bay, and a 20 minute drive from Ballina Airport, Tallaringa Views is an oasis tucked into the trees and woodlands of the Byron Bay Hinterlands.
It’s the perfect location for a weekend away with your partner, in amongst the trees with only the noise of the birds outside and nothing else.
We felt miles away from work, stresses and the hustle and bustle of everyday life and found that we could fully relax and switch off at the Rosewood Cabin.
Since it was winter when we visited (end of June), the log fire wood burner was perfect to keep us cosy and warm for the whole weekend and added some more romanticism to the whole weekend.
Tallaringa Views would be the perfect Valentine’s Day getaway from Sydney or way to celebrate a special occasion as we’ll get into what makes this place so special further into this review.

Location of Tallaringa Views
Like I said, Tallaringa Views is located in the Hinterlands of Byron Bay, so it’s quite remote.
However, it’s not totally remote as it’s only a 30 minute drive from the town of Byron Bay, and the town of Alstonville is only a 10 minute drive away.
We popped into Alstonville for groceries from the local Cole’s supermarket one evening, and then actually went out of our way the next day to go back because the small town looked like something out of a small-town romance novel.
If you’re staying at Tallaringa Views, I highly recommend stopping by Alstonville and trying a cake (or two) from HOME Bakery, coffee from Benchtop Espresso or Buckley’s Chance, and browsing the Miles & Henry Bookstore, and Bolt and Buckle for some Western men’s clothes and gifts.
Also a top tip if you are visiting Alstonville for the Cole’s supermarket, know that Google Maps is incorrect and you can find Cole’s in the main Plaza building of the town that also houses Aus Post and Domino’s.

Amenities at Tallaringa Views
Where do I start? Rosewood Cottage at Tallaringa Views had everything we could have needed for our stay.
Like I mentioned above, there was a log fire wood burner which was perfect for the time of year we visited, with plenty of wood, matches and firelighters left by our hosts.
We had a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils, pots, pans, microwave, fridge, kettle, plates, cups, glasses etc. that you would need, as well as added touches like salt and pepper, cooking oil, teabags, coffee and a packet of Tim Tams left for us by the hosts which was a lovely touch.
There was also a TV in our cabin at Tallaringa Views with a box stacked with DVDs, a cupboard of board games, a jacuzzi outside (yes, really!), dressing gowns (which I loved), an ironing board and iron, and even a washing machine should you need it.
I haven’t even mentioned the balcony yet with a table and chairs, fairy lights, a hammock and a barbecue.
Honestly, there wasn’t anything else that we could have wanted or needed during our stay, everything was absolutely perfect.
You can see a full tour of the Rosewood cabin at Tallaringa Views in my TikTok video below and the many amenities and special touches that the hosts have added:
Final Tallaringa Views Review, Byron Bay Hinterlands
If you can’t tell by now, we were blown away by our stay at Tallaringa Views and it’s one of our favourite AirBnB stays in all of Australia.
It’s remote, romantic, peaceful and perfect for a weekend of pure relaxation, coming from the city.
Places like Tallaringa Views really offer the quiet and ability to really switch-off that hotels aren’t able to, and I’ve really come to appreciate that recently.
We had the most perfect stay in the Byron Bay Hinterlands, and I just wish we could have stayed longer and I could have another morning enjoying my first coffee of the day on the balcony watching the sun rise over the trees.
Bliss.
Check Tallaringa Views prices and availability here and let me know if you have any questions about our stay!
