Next in this series of reviews is The Urban, Siem Reap which was our first accommodation when we arrived in Cambodia. And it happened to be one of the nicest places we’ve stayed during our travels.

Top tip: for mobile data around Cambodia, we used the Airalo eSim. This was super handy and easily installed onto our phones as soon as we crossed the border via bus into Siem Reap!
Location of The Urban Hotel
The location of The Urban couldn’t have been better. Only a few minutes walk from the main restaurants and city centre, we didn’t have to take a tuk tuk anywhere other than to visit the temples on our day visiting Angkor Wat.
The hotel is also located only a few minutes walk from Pub Street. But still very quiet and out of the way on a street lined with market stalls that only open in the evenings.
At the front of the hotel is a large, modern, outdoor restaurant, which makes you feel even more secure and away from the hustle and bustle at the back.
Amenities at the Hotel
I have to include a special section in this review for the amenities of the hotel.
With a large restaurant, co-working space, sun loungers, an outdoor pool and even a spa. This hotel offered so much over a small area.
The hotel also offered free afternoon tea and local snacks/treats to all guests every afternoon, which made us want to stay here even longer and enjoy spending an entire day at the hotel itself.
Cost of The Urban Hotel
For our four night stay at The Urban, it cost us £63.46.
If we break that down, it cost us £15.87 per night. Then between the two of us, £7.93 per person, per night.
This might sound cheap, but there were many places even cheaper than this that we could have stayed at.
But for this price, and because The Urban looked so nice in the photos, we couldn’t not stay here. And we’re so glad we did!
Overall Review of the Urban Hotel
We loved this hotel so much. I’d say it was probably one of the best places we’ve stayed on our travels of Asia so far.
The hotel staff couldn’t do enough for you. You were greeted with a cold towel and fresh cinnamon juice every time you returned to the hotel.
If I ever find myself back in Siem Reap, The Urban will be my first point of call.
