Dracula’s (Bran) Castle
Let’s start with Bran Castle, often associated with the legendary Count Dracula. Bran is perhaps Romania’s most iconic and mysterious fortress.
You can explore the winding corridors, secret passageways, and medieval chambers as you delve into the myths and legends that shroud this fortress in mystery.
This is the one everyone wants to see and visit, however it’s not actually the most breathtaking in Transylvania…
Peles Castle
The title of ‘Most Breathtaking’ actually belongs to Peles Castle. Built as a royal summer residence for King Carol I, the grand Peles Castle boasts amazing craftsmanship and intricately carved designs.
You won’t find Dracula here, but you will see a fairytale-eske castle that could easily belong in DisneyLand.
Choosing Which One to Visit
If you have time during your trip, why not make a day of it and see both. Each are unique and have something different to offer.
But if you only have time to see one, then you will need to make a decision – the creepy Dracula home… or the more glamorous option.
