This blog post is all about Therme Spa Bucharest and what to know before booking.

I would put Therme Spa Bucharest at the top of your list of activities when visiting Bucharest.
Obviously, make sure you have time to see all of the sights and culture the city has to offer. But sometimes (always) you just need to relax.
And this is the perfect place to do so.
We made sure to include an evening at Therme Spa Bucharest in our Bucharest itinerary when we visited for 3 days. I had seen the thermal spa all over TikTok, and it was everything I’d hoped it would be.
Before we visited Therme Spa Bucharest, we had quite a lot of questions that not many of the online blogs/TikToks answered, so I wanted to put this blog post together if you’re thinking of visiting Therme Spa during your trip to Bucharest.

This blog post is all about things to know about Therme Spa Bucharest.
What is Therme Spa Bucharest?
One of Europe’s largest thermal wellness destinations, Therme Bucuresti can be found on the outskirts of Bucharest.
Spanning over 30,000 square metres, the complex is huge.
There are saunas, steam rooms, thermal pools, outdoor pools, cold showers, restaurants, swim up bars, infrared beds, wave pools, jacuzzis, and even a sauna with a cinema.
There’s also a kids area with slides, and an adult-only area to truly relax. You can also book private spa treatments.
Where is Therme Spa Bucharest?
The official address of the spa is: Calea Bucureşti 1K, Balotești 077015, Romania
It’s around a 30 minute drive from the city centre of Bucharest and only a six minute drive from Bucharest’s main airport.
Making it the perfect place to completely relax before you either head off on a long haul flight, or after your flight into Romania.
How Do I Get to Therme Spa Bucharest?
From Bucharest city centre, you have a few options:
How to Get to Therme Spa Bucharest by Taxi
Uber is available in Bucharest, as well as other ride-hailing apps like Bolt. You can of course take a local registered taxi to Therme Spa as well.
How to Get to Therme Spa Bucharest by Public Bus
As we were on a strict budget during our time in Bucharest, this is the option we went for.
A public bus costs £0.52 each way, giving you the cheapest mode of transport. Take the R442 bus from Piaţa Presei Libere bus station.
How to Get to Therme Spa Bucharest by Shuttle Bus
There is also a free shuttle bus (yes, free!) from the city centre (Piața Romana bus station). However this only runs every two hours so isn’t the most convenient mode of transport.
But if you’re looking for the cheapest option, time your visit to Therme Spa around the shuttle bus timetable to make your visit even cheaper.
How Much is Therme Spa Bucharest?
Ticket prices for Therme Spa Bucharest depend on day of the week you visit, how many hours you spend there and the number of areas you want to explore while you’re there.
For example, let’s say you choose to go midweek when it’s cheaper. And you only want access to the Galaxy area (the cheapest area). And you want to spend 4.5 hours there. This will cost you around £15.
Or, if you want to still go during the week (when it’s cheaper) and access all areas for 4.5 hours, this will cost you around £24.
An all-day pass (yes people really spend all day here) during the week with access to all areas will cost you £30. And on a weekend, £33.
How Do I Book Tickets to Therme Spa Bucharest?
Ahead of visiting Therme Spa, you can (and I’d highly advise it) book your tickets here with GetYourGuide.
This is how we arranged our trip to Therme Spa and it was incredibly straight-forward and slightly easier than navigating Therme’s own website.
You can select your date, how many zones you wish to visit and how long you want to spend there. These options will determine the cost of your ticket.
How to Make the Most of Therme Spa Bucharest
Below are my top tips of how to make the most of your time at Therme Bucuresti Spa in Bucharest.
1. Book Tickets Ahead of Time
As soon as you have booked your trip to Bucharest, then your next step is to book Therme Spa.
Select your preferred date and time and note that it’s cheaper to visit Monday – Thursday, rather than at the weekend.
We booked a Wednesday evening for four hours and it was the perfect amount of time to relax and enjoy all of the amenities. We even dined at The Mango Tree restaurant during our four hour slot here.
2. Arrive Early
Squeeze every drop out of the spa and make sure you arrive on time to maximise your relaxation time and explore every inch of the spa complex.
3. Adhere to the Dress Code
You will need to bring a towel, sandals and swimwear. These can also be bought and rented at the Therme Spa, but it’s cheaper to bring your own.
4. Pre-Book Your Wellness Reservations
Plan ahead by booking spa treatments and wellness sessions in advance, guaranteeing availability and also securing preferred appointment times.
5. Consider Your Dining Options
We booked the 6-10pm slot, so we were a bit unsure what to do about dinner. We were also on a budget and caught the bus there, so had to leave Bucharest city at 5pm.
We opted to have dinner at the spa and were so glad we did! The food is excellent with huge portions and surprisingly not over-priced. It’s probably not as cheap as outside the spa, but by no means was it marked up heavily.
We dined at The Mango Tree and would so highly recommend it. They even give you robes to dine in so you don’t need to change.
