This blog post is all about my Copthorne Hotel Dubai review.

Welcome to the Checking In series on Orlagh Claire where I review hotel, hostel and AirBnB stays around the world. As you most likely know, I have been travelling quite a lot recently which you can see over on my YouTube channel.
Next in this series of reviews is Copthorne Hotel Dubai where we stayed during the second leg of our backpacking travels, for two nights in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
We were travelling on a budget due to our upcoming year of travel around Asia, so this is why we chose to stay a little further out from the main city.
However, even though the Copthorne was so cheap and still so beautiful, it was incredibly close to the Metro, meaning we could get to Dubai’s main attractions in minutes.
Below is my full Copthorne Hotel Dubai review of the two nights we spent here, right at the beginning of our world travels.
Top tip: for mobile data around Dubai, we used the Airalo eSim which was super handy and easily installed onto our phones as soon as we landed in the airport! Use code ‘ORLAGH3‘ for $3 off your first eSIM.

Copthorne Hotel Dubai Location
As we were now well underway in our backpacking trip, we tried to stick to a backpacking budget as best we could while in somewhere like Dubai.
This was my first time visiting Dubai and I already had so many assumptions and preconceptions based on seeing a lot of people travel there on social media and knowing a lot of people that had also spent time living there.
To keep things cheap, we stayed in the old area of Dubai, which helped our budget massively.
Copthorne Hotel Dubai was a 10 minute drive from Dubai Airport, and located a three minute walk from the metro station which we made good use of.
As we also spent quite a bit of time in old Dubai from eating there on both nights and taking part in a walking tour, it made sense for us to stay here to keep our budget low.

Cost to Stay at Copthorne Hotel Dubai
This hotel was a bargain!
It cost us £45 per night (which is crazy for Dubai prices). And we were upgraded to a suite when we checked in.
Our suite had a separate living area and kitchen, three wardrobes, a large ensuite bathroom and huge bedroom with a balcony stretching across both lounge and bedroom areas.
For a total of £90 for the two of us for two nights, it was a steal.
Considering a ride on the metro to things like the Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Dubai Marina etc. was £1 per ride.

Copthorne Hotel Dubai Review
The hotel itself was lovely upon arrival, with reception staff very pleasant and welcoming.
Especially with our free upgrade, we didn’t have anything to complain about.
Since Dubai was new to me, I didn’t realise that UK plugs are able to be used here which made charging all of our devices extra easy.
You could smell cigarette smoke when walking through the corridor to our room. So I would make sure to request a room far from the smoking rooms.
Our Stay at Copthorne Hotel Dubai
I wish we could have stayed longer to make use of the room upgrade.
As we were really only in the hotel to sleep at night time, so didn’t actually spend much time in the room.
For the price, our experience really couldn’t have been better.

Final Copthorne Hotel Dubai Review
We were more than happy with our free room upgrade to a suite.
Especially being on a backpacking budget and having to save our pennies everywhere we can.
The hotel was also in a great location. A few minutes walk to the metro station and a ten minute drive to the airport.
Definitely a spot to consider if visiting Dubai.
And in my opinion, the cheap cost does make it worth it. Even though it’s quite far away from the main attractions of the modern side of Dubai.
