This blog post is all about my life and travel plans for 2025.
Hello and welcome to my life plans for the next year ahead.
Given the way 2024 started and the fact that I quit my job, left London, travelled around Asia and set off to move to Australia (but didn’t actually make it) makes it an interesting end to the year.
So where does that leave us for 2025? Where am I now and what are my plans?
Much to discuss, so buckle up.
This blog post is all about my life and travel plans for 2025.
My Life and Travel Plans for 2025
Let’s get stuck into my existential crises like we always used to do. Here are my ramblings about my proposed life and travel plans for 2025.
Life Plans No. 1: Figure Out What to Do With My Life
That’s always a good place to start with life plans, right?
Like I mentioned above, this year has been a bit of a whirlwind. I started January 1st in New York City, moved out of London, quit my job and spent eight months travelling Asia.
The whole point of the travels was to make it to Australia and get settled in Sydney, find a job and start doing life again.

But here I am in my old childhood bedroom in Ireland typing this blog post at the end of the year.
Before you jump to conclusions, the plan is still to move to Australia. I’m actually back in Ireland because we decided to spend Christmas in New York instead. Of course.
I’ll be in New York for a lovely three weeks and finally making the move to Australia in February 2025.
Life Plans No. 2: To Travel or Not to Travel?
So, as I’ve mentioned 100 times, I spent this year travelling. And what I learnt, is that travelling constantly is exhausting.
I missed home a lot more than I expected to and I missed having my own place to come home to. I missed routine, my house coat, my little coffee sachets that I like to have, being able to use tap water and being able to put toilet roll in the toilet (if you’ve been to Asia, you’ll know).
But I also love travelling. I love visiting new countries and cities. I love not knowing the local language and forcing myself to figure things out, trying new foods and exploring a new place with fresh eyes.
So it’s somewhat of an annoying place that I now find myself. On one hand, I do want to stop for a little bit and have my own place and get a job and a routine again. But on the other hand, there’s still so much of the world to see and explore.

Life Plans No. 3: Figure Out What I Want to do Career-Wise
I already know with moving to Australia on a working holiday visa, that I could very much be in temporary work and back in hospitality. I’m not that bothered about that part really.
My main dilemma is the fact that I’ve started to make money from content and social media this year. I’ve worked with some incredible brands, grown my Instagram account by around 18,000 followers and quadrupled my yearly blog traffic.
Is being a full-time content creator something that I want to pursue?
If I was to live in Bali or Bangkok where rent was very cheap and outgoings weren’t much, then yes, I probably could pursue being a full-time content creator. But in Australia? Absolutely not.
This leads to the question of whether I want to move to Australia or live in Bali or Bangkok instead.

Travel Plans for 2025 No. 1: Make it to Australia
My flight is officially booked so this should actually happen in February 2025.
However, with the dilemma I mentioned above, I’ll be spending some time in Bali in January. What if I get into a routine here and decide to keep going with the content creation and stay in Bali?
My flight into Australia might end up being a visit.
Right now, I’m 55% in the camp of living in Australia since that’s why we have the working holiday visa. But we could probably make and save a lot more money if we lived in Bali instead.
Oh the decisions.

Travel Plans for 2025 No. 2: Travel As Much of Australia As Possible
This obviously depends on us making it to Australia, but if we do, I want to explore as much of the country as possible.
I know it’s absolutely enormous, but I want to visit Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra and more. I’d also love to explore Western Australia and the Northern Territories if time and money allows.
I can’t wait to see my first kangaroo and koala bear! Let’s hope for a small number (or zero) spiders and snakes during our time there.
Travel Plans for 2025 No. 3: Another American Road Trip
Yes, you read that right. America.
Himself has bought concert tickets for a show in LA later in 2025, so we’re hoping to turn it into another American road trip.
There will be much planning to do and it’s in a state that I haven’t been to before, so I’m already very excited just thinking about it.
Right now, we’re looking at around three weeks, but if I can convince him otherwise and if we have the funds of course, I’m hoping to extend to around two months if we can. But we’ll see what happens!

Travel Plans for 20254 No. 4: Visit Another Asian/Australasian Country
I would love to be able to visit a country surrounding Australia like Fiji or Samoa.
I can’t see our timeline allowing us to visit New Zealand this year, but if that were possible, even better.
There are so many smaller countries surrounding Australia that I would never visit unless I was living in Australia, so this is definitely the time to do it.
