Yes, you read right.
As if I have absolutely nothing else better to be at, I have added another string to my bow.
I’ve started vlogging.
Lol, why?
One of my biggest regrets of my year in New York is not documenting it enough. And I know, I know, I was an absolute sickener on my Instagram of photos every single day of what I was getting up to, or the views around me as I went about my day to day life, but I wish I had taken so many more videos.
I documented every month of my time in New York here on my blog and yes, while that’s lovely to look back on and read, I just wish I had a compilation video of each month that I could also look back on and relive.
My boyfriend and I have been on the road moving around city to city since April which would also have been incredible to document in video-form, but of course, I didn’t.
There are many reasons as to why, but I’ll get into them in a minute.
The main thing is, I finally decided to start when we were living in Wales and even though it mostly documents the places we ate in Wales, there are some elements of what we got up to and the places we visited.
Why now?
I didn’t take the plunge before because mainly I was terrified and embarrassed. One, I don’t have a face for YouTube and two, I certainly don’t have the voice for YouTube.
But I just kept telling myself more and more that we are all literally here on this planet once in our lives, so why be worried about what other people think and say.
I’m making videos so that I have them to look back on and laugh at or smile at. I’m making them for memories to have in the future.
I’m not going to get bogged down with numbers of views and subscribers because I’m making them for me, and if someone else watches and enjoys, then all the better.
What kind of videos will we see?
I’ve just posted a video of travelling around Wales as the first one, and will be followed up with our time in Manchester with a trip to Liverpool and Ireland added in.
After that, it will be documenting our move to a more permanent home for the next 12 months and I think I’m going to publish bi-weekly or monthly videos of what I get up to in our next location.
We have some pretty exciting things planned in the next few months (covid-dependent naturally) that I can’t wait to document, so stay tuned!
I’m hoping that the videos will document our time in the UK and hopefully transition to us living in New York because that’s the ultimate dream and I’m writing it here so it comes true.
The moment you’ve been waiting for
Let me know what you think of the first video!
