Holidays are becoming more and more expensive to go on. When you’ve got a family to take with you, meaning multiple rooms to book and meals to fork out for, the idea of travelling might not even sound like a good idea at all!
However, if you want to plan a great holiday this summertime, and you’re keen to get away after a stressful few months, now could be the perfect time to get the ball rolling.
Why? Here are some reasons to get your plan in motion.
There’s still a chance to get a deal
Now is one of the best times to book a holiday. It’s not quite the peak season yet, and you’ve still got a good few weeks to go before all the parents out there try to book something family friendly.
This means you’ve got a chance to secure a really good travel deal, especially if the flight lists have just been updated. Book them as soon as you can to save some money on advance tickets – they won’t last forever!
But also plenty of time to save up!
Saving up for a holiday is something we all have to do, with around six or so months ahead to throw some cash in a jar.
And if you’ve always wanted to go on a the spirit of Queensland rail holiday, this is your chance to finally cram a few more pennies in the pot that’ll let you go on one!
You’ve still got a couple of months to go before the summer truly kicks in, but this is your last chance to put away some spending money.
Put in around 20% of your total income each week for the best return.
You’ve got time to make changes
If you’ve already got a holiday plan, double checking it now and/or putting the finishing touches on it right now gives you the chance to make changes.
Say you’ve found a cheaper way to travel, or there’s another museum you want to put on the schedule – this is where you pencil it in.
And if your new idea doesn’t quite work with everything else you want to do, you’ve still got bags of time to sort it out and rearrange some activities. Easy!
You might spot something fun to do
It’s hard to make a full holiday itinerary during the late winter or early spring. But if you wait for late spring and the early summer itself, there’ll be a lot more events in the works!
Have a look around right now and see what new events have been added to local calendars, depending on where you want to go.
Make sure the bulk of what you want to do is either free or low cost and you’ll still have plenty of money for souvenirs with the same budget.
Plan your holiday right now! If you want to save money as well as find something interesting to do, this is your best chance.
