Welcome to the Checking In series on Orlagh Claire where I review my stay in hotels, hostels, guest houses and AirBnBs around the world. This review: Baan Aew Pai, Pai, Thailand.
You can see hotel room tours of everywhere we’ve stayed over on my YouTube channel.
Next in this series of hotel reviews is Baan Aew Pai, Pai, Thailand which was a gorgeous resort in the backpacker town of Pai, Northern Thailand.
Top tip: for mobile data around Asia, we used the Jetpac eSim. This was super handy and easily installed onto our phones as soon as we arrived in Japan! Get $5 off your eSIM package when you use my referral code: 4293IOA9.

Location of Baan Aew Pai
Pai is a relatively small place in the North of Thailand. I would assume, no matter where you stay in the area, you should be close to the main area of shops, markets and restaurants.
Our resort was along a side road, a five minute walk from the main stretch of shops and nearest 7-Eleven.
It was the perfect location for us as it was a little out of the way from the noise and backpacker scene, but still within walking distance from everything we needed.
Cost to Stay at Baan Aew Pai
Our two-night stay at Baan Aew Pai cost us £22.76 for a private hut with an ensuite bathroom.
Per night, this cost us £11.38 and to break it down further between the two of us, only cost £5.69 per night, per person.
For the location, room and surroundings – it was a complete steal!
Overall Review
I loved our little hut and the gardens surrounding it. There weren’t many huts on the resort which made the area nice and quiet.
We also had a porch at the front with a table and chairs if we wanted to sit outside, and the room was spacious enough for our luggage to hang up and also had a fridge.
The bathroom was also large and I had no fault with our room at all.
If I was to come back to Pai, I would happily stay here again.
