Welcome to the Checking In series on Orlagh Claire where I review my stay in hotels, hostels, guest houses and AirBnBs around the world. This review: Silk Lullaby Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam.
You can see hotel room tours of everywhere we’ve stayed over on my YouTube channel.
Next in this series of hotel reviews is Silk Lullaby Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam which was our final stop on our tour of Vietnam.
We actually spent almost two weeks at Silk Lullaby Hotel as we were due to explore the Ha Giang Loop but had to cancel due to the bad weather. So instead opted to stay in Hanoi a little longer.
Hanoi can be marmite for travellers. It’s incredibly busy, congested, noisy and chaotic – but this is what I love. There was so much life in Hanoi and incredible food.
It was one of my favourite cities on our trip around Vietnam, and I’m glad we were able to spend so much time there.
Top tip: for mobile data around Asia, we used the Jetpac eSim. This was super handy and easily installed onto our phones as soon as we arrived in Japan! Get $5 off your eSIM package when you use my referral code: 4293IOA9.

Location of Silk Lullaby Hotel, Hanoi
The location of Silk Lullaby Hotel couldn’t have been better for us. It was located in the Old Quarter and central to everything.
It was only a few minutes’ walk away from our favourite coffee shop to work from (Tranquil Books & Coffee). And incredibly close to all of the popular restaurants in the area, as well as the famous train street.
If you’re looking for a centrally-located hotel in Hanoi that’s still quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city, then I highly recommend Silk Lullaby.
Cost to Stay Here
For our 11-night stay at Silk Lullaby, it cost us a total of £204. Our first stay of five nights cost £94.99, and our second stay of six nights cost £109.12.
We had a gap in between our stay to go to Ha Long Bay for an overnight cruise trip. This was an amazing experience and my first time ever staying on water.
We booked through GetYourGuide and the tour started with a pick-up directly from Silk Lullaby Hotel and dropped us back there the following day. We were also able to leave our luggage at the hotel so that we could bring a small bag for our one night away.
To break the cost down of our stay at Silk Lullaby, for 11 nights, it cost £18.55 per night for the both of us. And to break this down further individually, £9.27 each, per night.
Overall Review of Silk Lullaby Hotel, Hanoi
I loved our stay at Silk Lullaby. If I return to Hanoi in the future, it will be the first place I enquire to stay.
The staff also couldn’t have been more helpful with recommendations, booking transport and chatting to us about our plans for Ha Giang.
A great hotel to stay at in the bustling city centre, without the noise and commotion!
