This blog post is all about my 2025 goals.
Hello and welcome to my annual goal-writing blog post. Like every year for the past seven years, I’m sharing my 2025 goals for the year with you and the wider internet.
Looking at last year’s goals in January 2024, some things won’t be much different.
Since I quit my job, moved out of London and left the UK to travel Asia and move to Australia in 2024, ‘Move to Australia’ is still on my list of 2025 goals this year too.
Because I haven’t made it there yet.
Along with moving to Australia, there are still quite a few additional 2025 goals that I’d like to achieve this year since it’s going to be a very different year with moving to a new country and trying to get settled while also exploring.
If you’d like to catch up on previous years’ goals lists, you can click on each one below:
So, without further ado, below are my 11 goals for 2025.
This blog post is all about my 2025 goals.
My 11 2025 Goals: What I Hope to Achieve
Below are the eleven 2025 goals I hope to achieve this year and how I think I’m going to do that.
1. Move to Australia
The flight is booked and we have a set date to fly into Sydney, Australia. Finally.
Even though we set off in March 2024 to move to Australia, our travels lasted a lot longer than we expected and carried over into 2025.
As I write this I’m not actually in Asia, but in New York City of all places. We will be getting to Australia early in 2025 and finally moving to a brand new city, country and continent!

2. Read 60 Books
Even though I read 80 books in 2024, I’m setting my target lower in 2025. With moving to a new country, I’ll be dealing with everything that comes with that and also hopefully working again.
I spent 10 months of 2024 being unemployed (aside being kind of employed by myself for Orlagh Claire) so that brought a lot of reading time. Plus with spending hours on planes, trains and buses, I was also able to get more reading in.
But this year I’m focusing on books I really want to read and good books. I have a huge TBR (over 100 books) that’s full of books that I really want to read, but I keep putting off.
2025 is the year I read the famous and noteworthy books I have on my (digital) reading shelf.

3. Start Posting Book Content on YouTube
My dream job is to read for a living. And there are people doing exactly that on YouTube. My main content on YouTube is travel vlogs, but I’m hoping to add some more branches to my YouTube in 2025.
I want to vlog my move to Australia and trying to build a life in a brand new country. Plus, I want to start sharing book content on there.
Since I read quite a lot of books each month, I’m going to start with monthly round ups of the books I read each month and take it from there. We’ll see if I can post 11 book videos in 2025 first of all and then regroup again this time next year to see how it went.

4. Visit 10 Cities/Places in Australia
I visited 15 countries in 2024. With moving to Australia in 2025, that definitely won’t be happening this year.
Instead, I’m hoping to explore my new country and the new place I’ll be calling home. We’ll (hopefully) be based in Sydney, but have travel plans around the Australian winter to explore some new cities and states following the British & Irish Lions Rugby team on their Australia tour.
We should be hitting the following cities on the tour: Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Brisbane.
I wouldn’t mind adding in a little road trip of Australia if we can fit it in this year too.
5. Run 5km Again and Get Another Running Medal
One of my greatest achievements of 2024 was running 5km without stopping. And the first time I did so was in a park run around Hyde Park in London, so I got a medal for my efforts.
With backpacking around Asia, my running has definitely fell to the way side, but it’s something I really want to pick up again in 2025.
I want to run 5km again without stopping and sign up for a 5km fun run or race to get another medal and work towards the 10km.
6. Run 10km for the First Time
This might be a big ask this year, but I’m really hoping to get back into running again when I’m in Australia and have something of a routine again.
To give myself the motivation I’ll need to sign up for a race so that I have something to work towards.
Like the 5km, I’ll be taking it very slow, but the feeling of achievement for having done it will be so worth it. Let’s hope I come back with my 2026 goals and have a half marathon on my list of goals.
7. Be More Consistent on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
I won’t lie, I’m not the biggest fan of making short-form content.
I love sitting down to edit YouTube videos and write blog posts. But when it comes to editing on my phone, I just don’t like it. Because of that, I haven’t been very consistent with posting on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
However, my Instagram has grown so much in 2024 that I don’t want to neglect it and I want to grow it even more. Since sharing my travel content, I’ve grown my Instagram by 18,000 followers in less than 12 months.
I’ve set myself the challenge of posting all 31 days of January across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. And I plan to stick to it and keep it going the remainder of 2025 and see how all three platforms grow this year.
8. Visit 3 New Countries
I won’t be visiting 15 countries in 2025, that’s for sure. I’ve kept the number small as we so far only have plans to visit countries that we’ve been to already (except for Australia of course).
Once we fly into Australia, I’ll have hit 30 countries in total that I’ve visited in my lifetime.
Like I mentioned above, I’m starting the year in New York City. After this, we’re heading back to Ireland for a week before flying back to Bali and then finally Australia.
The only other travel plans we have so far for 2025 include internal travel in Australia and (fingers crossed) a road trip in America in the later part of 2025.
So I’m keeping things open for at least two additional countries in 2025. Maybe Fiji and New Zealand could be on the cards?
9. Make Double What I Made in 2024 from Socials
2024 was the year that I actually started making a small income from my social media. I worked with a number of brands on content across Instagram, YouTube and my blog.
It really showed me that I could potentially make Orlagh Claire into a real thing (finally) if I start treating it like a business.
My goal for 2025 is to continue working with brands across my platforms and make double what I made in 2024. It’s a hefty goal, but why not aim for the stars, eh?
10. Be Accepted to Mediavine this Year
2024 was a huge year for my blog. I’ve had this website since 2016 (almost 10 years!) and blogged here and there.
However, with being unemployed this year, I put a lot more effort into it and started publishing blog posts every single day since September.
My site traffic quadrupled and December 2024 was my best month ever. I was accepted into Mediavine’s junior ads program since my site started consistently hitting 10,000 sessions each month.
So the plan for 2025 is to make it into the actual Mediavine program. Which means I’ll need to consistently be hitting 50,000 sessions per month. Let’s do this!
11. Make A Dent in the Backlog of Travel Footage I Have from 2024
One thing that made me very overwhelmed in 2024 was the mounting list of content I had from my travels.
Since we were consistently travelling for nine months with no real breaks, I would keep capturing more and more content without being able to go back, edit and publish where I’d just been before moving through another 10 places.
As we’re going to be more settled in 2025 with moving to Australia, I’ll be slowly making my way through all of the travel content I’ve accumulated in 2024 and starting to publish my travel vlogs from all over Asia.
I have a mountain of blog content to get through, short form videos and posts to help anyone else that’s travelling or backpacking and of course my travel vlogs so I can look back on them in the future.
2025 Goals: The Year it Happens
So there you have it. My 11 2025 goals laid out and how I hope to achieve them.
It’s always a little daunting sharing my life goals with the internet. But I see it as a small form of manifestation and accountability by writing them all down and sharing it so publicly.
Make sure to follow along across my other social platforms to see how I’m getting along with everything and whether I stick to everything I’ve said here.
As always, I’ll be back at the end of the year (and maybe even half-way through the year) to update you on how it’s going.
